Hey, I'm Dea (pronounced D, short for Dearne).

Located in Newcastle, NSW (but available worldwide), with over 16 years in the wedding industry, I am passionate about turning unfiltered moments into lifelong stories. At a photoshoot I’m your personal cheerleader. I love when people say “I’m awkward in front of the camera”, because well…I will prove you wrong!

Little Black Bow Photography was born from a love of honest storytelling, big feelings, imperfect moments and all of the things that make your love and life uniquely yours. It’s wedding, elopement, family and branding photography for amazing humans (or animals, they are invited too), who want their moments captured with intention, creativity and a whole lot of good vibes!

MEET your PHOTOGRAPHER

Hey! I’m Dea (pronounced Dee), which is short for Dearne. I’m a Newcastle, NSW, photographer who believes the best photos happen when you are with a photographer that allows you to feel comfortable to be you.

I know that being in front of the camera can feel awkward (hello, from an awkward in front of camera person!!), which is why I don’t expect you to perform or spend your day in poses that don’t feel natural. Instead, I’ll gently guide you when you need it, make you laugh when the nerves kick in, and give you plenty of space to simply enjoy the people you love. The result? Relaxed, candid photography that feels genuine and looks like the best version of you!

My style is a mix of documentary and beautifully natural portraits. I love creating images that feel joyful and are full of movement and connection.

When I’m not photographing I’m exercising (only things that are disguised as exercise though!), spending time with my family and friends or feeling inspired by art and live music.

I can’t wait to help bring your dream shoot to life.
